The Melges20 is a monotype boat, born in 2008 in the famous American shipyard of the Melges family and designed by the Reichel / Pugh Design Studio. The boat usually houses 3 sailors, is 6.09 m long, 2.13 m wide and weighs 520 kg. Its small size and light weight make the competitions very technical and spectacular. Thanks to these characteristics, it is often hosted in major World Yacht Clubs and the key roles manned by Olympic Champions and well-known faces of events such as the America's Cup and Volvo Ocean Race. During 2019, LightBay Sailing Team entrusted the owner Stefano Visintin with the arduous task of competing in this very selective class. Although he is only in his second year of experience in this class, he is already among the top ten teams in the world.
